J&K: Army kills one militant in Waderbala Handwara encounter

Army said that last night they received information about the presence of militants in Waderbala area.

A militant was killed in North Kashmir’s Waderbala Handwara after Army and Special Operations Group of police launched an operation in the area.

Army said that last night they received information about the presence of militants in Waderbala area. As army reached the location to launch search operation, militants opened fire on the troops. Army said that so far one militant has been killed.

Officials said that they have information that two to three militants are hiding in the area. The encounter took place in the Hafruda neighborhood where four army men were killed a after militants hiding in the forests attacked the patrol team searching the area. After the killing of four soldiers army had launched a big operation in the area.

So far identification of slain militant has not been revealed.
