A Delhi court on Thursday convicted three men on charges of murder and abduction – in connection with the 2009 murder case of IT executive Jigisha Ghosh. Here is a timeline of the events happened.
March 18, 2009: At 4 am, Jigisha was abducted by three men after her office cab dropped her near her residence in south Delhi’s Vasant Vihar.
March 20, 2009: Jigisha body was recovered from a place near Surajkund in Haryana.
March 23, 2009: Delhi Police arrest three men – Amit Shukla, Baljeet Malik and Ravi Kapoor – in the murder case.
June 2009: Delhi Police files chargesheet in the case against three men. Charges of murder, abduction, destruction of evidence, forgery under sections of IPC slapped against the accused.
April 15, 2010: Trial begins in Delhi sessions case.
July 5, 2016: Delhi court reserves its judgement in the case.
July 14, 2016: Delhi court convicts three men in the case.
