A suspected ISI spy, arrested by the Rajasthan ATS in a joint operation with their UP counterparts on Sunday, was handed over to the state intelligence authorities for further investigation Monday. An ex-army havildar, 58-year-old Govardhan was working as a patwari at Khetolai near Pokharan. According to ATS sources, he had been providing information about the Indian Army’s war exercises to the ISI for the past two years. Police reportedly recovered a map of the Pokhran Test Range from him. Goverdhan will now be interrogated by the state as well as central agencies at the Central Interrogation Centre in Jaipur. “He will be produced before a magistrate shortly. We have informed the central agencies about the arrest. He will be jointly interrogated by the central agencies and by us,” said ADG, intelligence, Utkal Ranjan Sahoo.
