Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Thursday told legislators in the Upper House that the state government will examine all evidence that the Opposition has supporting its allegations against ministers in the BJP-led government and take necessary action. Following the chief minister’s assurance, the state legislative council resumed normal functioning on Thursday after being disrupted for three days in a row, with the Opposition demanding inquiries against all ministers battling graft allegations. “The government will look at all the evidence that the Opposition has against ministers in this government. We will surely take action if we find any wrongdoing. I request everyone to let the House function normally,” said the chief minister. The Opposition had levelled allegations of graft against several ministers such as Pankaja Munde, Girish Bapat, Vishnu Savra, Vinod Tawde, Deepak Sawant and Ravindra Waikar, among others. Legislators had asked for inquiries under the ACB as well as through a sitting judge, saying they will not let the House function unless the BJP-led government promises intervention. While the Lower House functioned normally thereafter, the Upper House continued to be disrupted.
