Crop insurance deadline extended in Maharashtra

Last week, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had urged Union Agriculture Minister Radhamohan Singh to consider extending the deadline as farmers had queued outside district offices for crop insurance.

The Centre has given its consent to the state to extend the cut-off date for farmers crop insurance under Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme to August 10.
