Congress slams NIA role in Malegaon case

It asked PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to reveal “the manipulative hand”, which is working to give a clean chit to the accused.

A day after a special court rejected Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur’s bail plea and slammed the National Investigating Agency for not probing her role in the 2008 Malegaon blasts case, the Congress Wednesday said the court’s “scathing remarks” establish the NIA’s “dubious role”. It said the agency has become “Namo Investigation Agency” and demanded NIA director Sharad Kumar’s removal. It asked PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Rajnath Singh to reveal “the manipulative hand”, which is working to give a clean chit to the accused. “The court’s observation has proved how the NIA is being misused and those associated with the RSS are being given a clean chit,” said Congress spokesperson Shobha Oza.
