Reacting to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s charge that AAP leaders were lowering the level of public discourse, saying vulgarity is not a right available to people in positions, senior AAP leader Sanjay Singh hit back, saying BJP leaders should be the “last ones to lecture on use of proper language”.

“BJP talking about minding one’s language is like Gabbar Singh talking of ahimsa. They should be the last ones to lecture on use of proper language. Have we all forgotten how the Prime Minister had talked of ‘50 crore ki girlfriend’ and, during the recent elections, would hit out at the Congress using terms like ‘shehzaada’,” Singh said.

“The BJP ministers have time and again embarrassed the party with foul language. Giriraj Singh wants to send everyone to Pakistan and Niranjan Jyoti had made remarks like ramzaada-haramzaada,” he said.

“We want the BJP to stick to the issue and not confuse people by bringing up vulgarity and other irrelevant things.

Our language might have been harsh but when someone is offended and is being unnecessarily harassed, such a sharp reaction is obvious. If we deliberately hurt someone we would have apologised, but our reaction was only natural when we were provoked,” Singh said.
