India, Brazil, South Africa call for action against terror groups, proxies

Condemning terrorism in all its forms and manifestations, India, Brazil and South Africa Thursday called for “concerted action” against all UN-listed terrorists and terrori entities including Al-Qaeda, ISIS, Lashkar-e-Tayyiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM), and other proxy groups and their facilitators.

The joint statement by the India-Brazil-South Africa grouping said: “The Ministers condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations wherever committed and by whomsoever. They concurred that terrorism is a global scourge that must be fought and that terrorist safe havens eliminated in every part of the world. They reaffirmed that the fight against terrorism must be carried out with full respect for international law, in particular the Charter of the United Nations and international human rights law.”

They called upon the international community to establish a broad international counter-terrorism framework in accordance with the principles of international law.
