A case has been registered against a woman’s husband, his sister and his parents for singeing her and putting chilli powder in her private parts, while a neighbour was booked for raping her in Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh district, police said on Saturday. The alleged crimes took place on December 13, police said. Based on her complaint, the case was registered at a police station in Guna district, where the complainant’s parents live and was subsequently transferred to Rajgarh district on Friday, Biaora Sub Divisional Officer of Police Neha Gaur said. According to the complainant, a 25-year-old neighbour came to her marital home on some pretext and molested her. “He pushed me down onto the floor, turned off the light, and started to molest me while covering my mouth. I was terrified by the sudden attack. Just then, my sister-in-law arrived. and the accused got scared and tried to flee," she said in her complaint. The complainant’s sister-in-law allegedly abused her verbally and raised questions on her character. She alleged that other family members also gathered and her father-in-law shoved chilli powder in her private parts, while her mother-in-law singed her body with a hot spatula. A senior police officer said a case has been registered against the woman’s husband, father-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law for assault and torture, while the neighbour was booked for rape. All accused are absconding and they will be arrested soon, the official said.
