Haryana Nagar Nigam Election Results 2025 Live Updates: BJP sweeps Haryana mayoral polls, bags nine corporations out of 10

The Bharatiya Janata Party registered a clean sweep in the Haryana local body polls, winning nine out of the total 10 municipal corporations in the mayoral polls. BJP lost out the Manesar seat to independent candidate Dr Inderjit Yadav.

BJP emerged victorious in the mayoral polls in Rohtak and Sirsa, as per the Haryana Election Commission website. In Rohtak, BJP candidate Ram Avatar Valmiki emerged victorious with a margin of 45,198 votes.

In Sirsa, BJP candidate Shanti Swaroop emerged victorious in the final round of vote counting by a margin of 12,779 votes.

The mayoral candidate of the BJP won the Ambala municipal corporation and its nominees were leading in eight other civic bodies in Haryana, as the counting of votes for the recently held elections went underway on Wednesday.

The Congress, which was hoping to make a comeback after suffering a defeat in the 2024 Assembly polls, was trailing.

Elections for the posts of mayor and ward members in the municipal corporations of Manesar, Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, Rohtak, Karnal, Yamunanagar, Panipat, Ambala and Sonipat were held earlier this month. Bypolls for the post of mayor in the municipal corporations of Ambala and Sonipat were also held. (PTI)

In the final round of counting of votes, BJP candidate Praveen Joshi is set to win the Mayoral polls in Faridabad, leading by over 3.1 lakh votes against his rival Congress candidate Lata Rani.

BJP candidate Raj Rani is inching closer to victory in Gurugram Mayor election as the gap between her and Congress rival Seema Pahuja is widening. Raj Rani, in the eighth round of vote counting, has secured 2,15,754 votes while Pahuja has secured 65,764 votes till now.

The Bharatiya Janata Party, which was previously leading on nine seats, is now leading on all 10 mayoral seats in Haryana. BJP is on track to sweep the Mayor elections in Hisar, Gurugram, Karnal, Rohtak, Faridabad, Manesar, Yamunanagar, Panipat, Ambala and Sonipat.

BJP candidate Raj Rani has taken a massive lead in Gurugram for the Mayor election, leading over her Congress rival Seema Pahuja by over 95,000 votes after the fifth round of counting.

In Hisar, BJP candidate Praveen Popli is leading against Congress’s Krishan Singla while in Karnal, Renu Bala Gupta of BJP is leading against her rival from the Congress, Manoj Wadhwa.

In Gurgaon, Raj Rani of BJP has maintained a lead against her rival Seema Pahuja of BJP while in Rohtak, Ram Avtar Valmiki of BJP is leading against Surajmal Kiloi of Congress. In Faridabad, BJP candidate Praveen Joshi has maintained a lead against Congress’s Lata Rani.

In the Haryana municipal elections, 26 ward members have been elected unopposed, securing their seats without a contest. The winning candidates include Kuldeep Singh from Faridabad, Vikas Yadav from Gurugram, Sankalp Bhandari and Sanjeev Kumar Mehta from Karnal, and Bhavna from Yamunanagar.

For the Julana municipal elections, independent candidates are leading from all 14 wards. Sonia is leading from Ward 1, Kavita from Ward 2, Jitendra Lathar from Ward 3, Monu from Ward 4, Sujata from Ward 5, Pawan Kumar from Ward 6, Rajesh from Ward 7, Sandeep from Ward 8, Rahul from Ward 9, Puja Rani from Ward 10, Sonam from Ward 11, Sumit from Ward 12, Jyoti from Ward 13, and Maju from Ward 14.

In Gurugram, Karan Goel, DCP West, says, "We have set up all the facilities, and government employees have been assigned the counting duty. There are 36 wards in MCG. The counting for Mayor will take place first, and later, simultaneously, the counting for ward members will take place. Security forces have been deployed."

In Sirsa, DSP Vikas Krishan Yadav says, "Security has been tightened, and the counting is underway. We have deployed over 600 officials for counting, and the second round is in progress."

BJP is expected to win Gurugram ward 20 with ease with no opposing Congress candidate. It is expected that BJP will take an easy lead in majority of the Gurugram wards.
