Haryana Govt Crisis Highlights: Amid the brewing political crisis in Haryana, Congress party delegation led by Aftab Ahmed and B B Batra submitted a memorandum at the Raj Bhavan seeking the dismissal of the BJP government, President’s rule and a floor test among other things. “Governor Bandaru Dattatreya will not meet us even though the Opposition party sought time to him. Officials will speak to us on his behalf,” Batra told The Indian Express. Meanwhile, Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader Dushyant Chautala also wrote to Dattatreya seeking a floor-test for the present Haryana government to prove its majority on floor of the House.
Meanwhile, JJP’s candidate in Hisar and Dushyant Chautala’s mother Naina Chautala’s carcade was attacked on Friday evening in Rajkhera village of Uchana – the constituency that Dushyant Chautala represents in Haryana Vidhan Sabha. JJP alleged those who pelted stones at the vehicles were Congress party workers who also misbehaved with JJP supporters and entered into an altercation refusing to let JJP leader and her supporters from entering the village.
What led to the crisis? On Tuesday, three Independent MLAs — Dharampal Gondher (Nilokheri), Randhir Golan (Pundri) and Sombir Sangwan (Dadri) — withdrew support from the BJP government in Haryana, extending “outside” support to the Congress. Technically, the BJP government has the support of 43 MLAs (including Independents) now, though it claimed on Tuesday that four Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) MLAs too may offer “tactical assistance to the government if needed”, taking its strength to 47. The JJP had pulled out of the BJP coalition government in March. Of the JJP’s 10 MLAs, at least six have distanced themselves from Chautala. The Congress has 30 MLAs in the House. The support of the three Independents takes its tally to 33.

Dushyant Chautala: ‘If Bhupinder Hooda does not move to topple BJP govt in Haryana, it will only be due to ED, CBI’
Senior Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) leader and ex-Haryana deputy chief minister Dushyant Chautala Wednesday called Nayab Singh Saini “a weak Chief Minister” because of whom, he said, three Independent MLAs withdrew their support to the BJP government and aligned with the Congress. He also put the ball in Congress leader Bhupinder Singh Hooda’s court, promising to support the Leader of Opposition (LoP) if he went for toppling the BJP government. In an interview with The Indian Express, Dushyant spoke on a range of issues related to the prevailing political crisis in the state. Excerpts:
Your views on the prevailing situation in Haryana?
The BJP is in turmoil, with Haryana’s political scenario changing within the last 24 hours. Three Independent MLAs withdrew support from the ruling party and announced their support for the Opposition. It shows how weak the BJP has become. And it is because of the weakness of Chief Minister Nayab Saini. When I was part of the government with Manohar Lal Khattar, all Independent MLAs remained in support. We ran the government for about 4.5 years without any problem. If three MLAs withdraw support within 50 days of the new government’s formation, it is a matter of serious concern. This government is in minority, and the CM should resign on moral grounds.

Haryana Govt Crisis Live Updates: Why BJP is still confident in Haryana, and Congress may not move in for the kill yet
FURTHER WORSENING problems for the BJP government in Haryana, after three Independent MLAs withdrew their support to it, its former ally Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) announced that it would support any Congress move to topple the government. The developments come ahead of the Lok Sabha polls to all 10 seats in the state on May 25, with Assembly elections to follow towards the end of the year. The BJP insists its government led by Chief Minister Nayab Saini is intact.
The five reasons for its confidence:
A no-confidence motion looks difficult
The Congress led by Bhupinder Singh Hooda moved a no-confidence motion against the Saini government as recently as March 13. CM Saini won it with a voice vote.
With the JJP’s 10 MLAs having parted ways, the BJP had 41 MLAs at the time, along with six Independent MLAs and one MLA of the Haryana Lokhit Party (HLP) backing it, putting its numbers at 48 in a House of 90. The Congress had 30 MLAs, the INLD one, while one Independent, Balraj Kundu, who has remained non-committal all through the ups and downs in Haryana, abstained. After the JJP issued a whip, none of its MLAs voted, helping the BJP easily win.
