Congress MLA questions silence of Sareshwala and Bawa over demolition of Dahod Muslim graveyard

The Congress leader said that the Dahod administration demolished the graveyard's boundary by using force to extend benefit to a BJP leader.

Congress MLA Gayasuddin Sheikh has questioned the silence of businessman Zafar Sareshwala and state BJP Minority Morcha President Mahboob Ali Bawa over the demolition of the Chhab graveyard in Dahod town.

In a press release on Saturday, Sheikh said that both- Sareshwala and Bawa- were involved in promoting PM Narendra Modi’s slogan of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” among Muslims but both showed their back when it came to the issues pertaining to the Muslims.

The Congress leader said that the Dahod administration demolished the graveyard’s boundary by using force to extend benefit to a BJP leader who is having 60 acres of land behind the graveyard and wanted a route through graveyard.

He said that even state wakf board chairman Abdullah Ibrahim Saiyed had maintained silence over the demolition, though the graveyard was registered with the wakf board.

Sheikh said that Muslim BJP leaders had no guts to speak against the administration if the issued pertained to the Muslims. “Why are Muslim BJP leaders are keeping silent on Dahod issue?”, asked Sheikh.
