Former Samajwadi Party leader Roli Tewari joined the Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) in presence of party chief Jayant Chaudhary in New Delhi late on Thursday.

Tewari was removed by the SP in February last year for alleged indiscipline after she had criticized the party leader Swami Prasad Maurya over his remarks on the Ramcharitmanas. Later, Maurya also exited the party.

At that time, the RLD was an SP ally but the party joined the BJP-led NDA before the Lok Sabha elections this year.
