The results of the Maharashtra Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) were declared on Friday,with 74.46 per cent students passing. The trend of girls faring better in the HSC exams continued this year too. Girls secured 79.66 per cent,while boys scored 70.32 per cent. A total of 11,43,135 students,including 6,36,317 boys and 5,06,818 girls,had appeared for the exam that was conducted in February-March this year.
The newly-established Konkan Divisional Board topped the state with 86.25 pass percentage,the highest among the nine divisional boards in the state. This was the first examination under the Board,which was formed in October last year and is the smallest among the divisional boards,covering only 70,000 students. Out of the 29,165 students who appeared for the HSC under the Board,24,275 students passed. The Konkan Board was followed by Kolhapur and Pune,which resistered 82.14 and 82.12 passing percentage respectively.
The lowest pass percentage has been recorded in Amravati (62.87 per cent). The pass percent of other boards are as follows: Mumbai (76.14 per cent),Latur (75.46 per cent),Nashik (73.99 per cent),and Nagpur (68.93 per cent). A total of 5,044 differently-abled students had appeared for the exams,out of which 3,551 (70.39 per cent) students passed. Out of the 554 dyslexic students who attempted the examination,487 students (87.91 per cent) cleared.
