For students who came from different state boards trying to land seats at North Campus’s Kirori Mal College under the first cut-off list, admission proved a taxing affair.

Shashi from Moradabad,Uttar Pradesh, came to Kirori Mal College on Wednesday but she was denied admission as she could not produce the original marksheet and was asked to come the next day.

“I showed my provisional UP Board marksheet but they (authorities) just did not listen and asked me to come today. Finally, they verified my documents and granted me admission on Thursday,” said Shashi.

Tarun Rawat from Sonepat,Haryana, said he was granted admission on Thursday after doing the rounds of the college for three days.

Students from state boards said they were unable to produce original marksheets as most of the state board results were declared only recently and the original marksheets have not been released yet.

According to Mohd. Babar Ali,Admissions Convener at KMC,“We had asked for a clarification on this issue and the University reiterated its earlier notification that we should grant provisional admission to such students after verifying marksheets online. The notification was not clear on whether online marksheets and provisional marksheets could be accepted. Since other colleges started admission,we also granted admission to around 20 students from state boards today.”

Apart from marksheets, mandatory affidavits on sexual harassment and ragging also posed problems for aspirants on the last day of admission under the first list.
