The bench headed by Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud reserved its verdict after a three-day hearing. In April 2019 also the Supreme Court passed a similar order requiring the EC to furnish details of the electoral bonds received by political parties in a sealed envelope. But when it was pointed out to the bench that the EC had only submitted data pertaining to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the SC expressed displeasure that the poll panel had not maintained updated data.
