External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj was on Monday discharged from AIIMS, 10 days after she underwent a kidney transplant at the hospital. A team of specialists will continue to review her progress over next several weeks, AIIMS director M C Misra said. Watch what else is making news: Soon after discharge, Swaraj, in a series of tweets, stated, “I am back from AIIMS after surgery. I am seeing the necessary official papers. However, I am not allowed to receive visitors. I am grateful to the dedicated team of Doctors, SRs, Sisters, technicians and staff of AIIMS.. Dr Mukut Minhaz — Thank you very much for my surgery. I am proud India has a surgeon of your eminence in kidney transplant.” Union Health Minister JP Nadda, who is president of AIIMS, visited Swaraj before her discharge and expressed satisfaction about her recovery.
