A 30-year-old kitchen help of a school hostel was allegedly gangraped and later set on fire by her co-workers in Belora village of the district,police said today. The victim Taibai Khartade,a kitchen help in the hostel of Central Government-run Navodaya Vidyalaya,is struggling for life in the government hospital here with 95 per cent burns. Ajit Kumar,the mess master of the hostel,was arrested today after Taibai named him as prime accused in her statement to police,Police Station Officer,Surendra Gandham,said. The victim has also claimed that an attempt on her life was made as she knew about alleged irregularities in day today affairs of Navodaya Vidyalaya and its hostel. The incident took place on Monday night where she was allegedly gangraped by Ajit Kumar and other employees in the hostel and set afire,he said. The victim in her second statement to the police today morning,has named three other persons who aided and abetted Ajit Kumar in the crime,sources said. She has named Sheela Agase,Damodhar Bansode and Maroti Ingole,all employees of Navodaya Vidyalaya,in her second dying declaration,they said.
