Unmarried pregnant teenager killed by parents in AP

The girl was allegedly stabbed by her parents and relatives who later cut open the womb,removed the foetus and buried it along with her body,District Superintendent of Police Rajesh Kumar said.

“After the incident came to light,our officers went to the spot,but the villagers prevented them from exhuming the body. We will exhume it tomorrow,” he said.

Police have registered a case of rape and murder and further investigations were underway,the SP said,adding they were trying to trace the man who impregnated the minor.

Police sources said the girl’s parents earlier took her to a hospital in Devarakonda town and asked the doctors to abort the foetus. But the doctors refused,saying she was seven-month pregnant.
