Principal accused of beating student for not wearing shoes

A principal of a private matriculation school here has been booked for allegedly beating up a 12th standard student for not wearing shoes to class,police said today.

A principal of a private matriculation school here has been booked for allegedly beating up a 12th standard student for not wearing shoes to class,police said today.

A case has been registered against the principal under Sections 323 (Punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) and 341 (Punishment for wrongful restraint) of the Indian Penal Code,they said.

The student told them that the principal had beaten him on his hands and legs with a stick,besides slapping him for not wearing shoes.

The student is undergoing treatment for fever and weals at the Mohan Kumaramangalam government hospital here,they added.
