A special vigilance court issued non-bailable arrest warrants against two former Jharhand ministers,Hari Narayan Rai and Enos Ekka,in connection with disproportionate assets case.

The direction by the special judge,Binay Kant Khan, came after the vigilance department yesterday moved the court seeking arrest of the former ministers to speed up the probe into the DA cases.

The vigilance department had in November last year filed FIRs against the duo on the direction of the special vigilance court.

That direction was given after one Kumar Vinod lodged a complaint case on October 25,2008 accusing Ekka and Rai of amassing assets running into crores of rupees during their ministerial stints.

The FIR led to their removal from the then Shibu Soren government. Ekka held Rural Development department while Rai held the Urban Development portfolio then.

Registering his complaint under section-XI of the Prevention of Corruption Act,the complainant alleged that Rai and Ekka had earned hundred times more than what they had submitted in their affidavits to the Election Commission in the run up to the 2005 assembly elections.
