Three members of a family were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment for the murder of a girl in a honour killing case in 2008. Additional district and sessions judge Ramesh Chand Diwaker found the victim's mother Ikbal Jahan,brother Mohsin and uncle Mooba guilty under section IPC 304 and awarded 10 years imprisonment to them. The prosecution said Mohsina's family was against her relationship with Taufik. She was strangled to death by her family at Kairana in Muzaffarnagar district in July 2008. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 7,000 on each of the accused.
