Dalit girl gang-raped in MP village

A minor Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by 4 persons including a former village headman.

A minor Dalit girl was allegedly gang-raped by four persons including a former village headman at Chandora area here.

The incident,which occurred last week,came to light today when a police complaint was filed. On March 4,the four accused gang-raped the girl when she was alone at home.

When her mother,who was visiting her eldest daughter,returned after a few days,the girl told her about the incident,after which they approached the Multai police today.

Case under section 376 (rape) of IPC and under the SC/ST Act has been registered,and three persons,identified as Arjun Nai,Shankar Kumbi and Ashok Gond,have been arrested by the police. Vasudev Gond,the former Sarpanch,is absconding.

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) announced its first list of 14 candidates for the Bihar assembly polls, with its state unit chief Raju Tiwary and leader Hulas Pandey among the nominees. As per the seat-sharing arrangement, LJP (RV) will contest 29 seats, while BJP and JD(U) will contest 101 seats each. The remaining 15 candidates will be announced soon.
