Congress MLA’s vehicle stolen in Bihar

A Congress MLA from Chhattisgarh was left fuming when his jeep was stolen from an upmarket hotel in Gaya.

A Chhattisgarh MLA’s jeep was stolen from an upmarket hotel in Gaya,police said on Saturday. A scorpio jeep belonging to Congress MLA from Sitapur in Sarguja district Amarjit Bhagat was stolen from the parking lot of ‘Heritage hotel’ in civil lines locality where he had checked in for overnight stay on way to pilgrim town of Deoghar in Jharkhand.

The matter came to light this morning when the jeep bearing registration number CH 12D 1442,which was among the three vehicles in the convoy of the MLA,was found missing.

An FIR was lodged with civil lines police station in connection with the theft,sources said.

Meanwhile,reacting sharply to the incident Bhagat deplored the law and order situation in Bihar,saying not much had changed on the front after Nitish Kumar came to power in the state.

“It appears that the NDA government led by Nitish Kumar is surviving on the oxygen given by the media. The law and order scenario has not changed for the better under him,” he told journalists.
