Class X girl accuses judo coach of rape

A national level judo player was repeatedly raped allegedly by her coach,police said.

A national level judo player was repeatedly raped allegedly by her coach,who is absconding after the registration of a case,police said today.

The Class X girl,who comes from an economical poor background,told police that the coach forced her to participate in a three-week-long judo camp in Sunder Nagar of Himachal Pradesh from June seven.

In her statement to police,the girl said that on June nine,her coach picked her up from her house to take her to the camp,even as her parents were not willing to sent her as she was unwell.

The victim told police that her coach took her to his house on the pretext of picking up his luggage but allegedly raped her repeatedly. The next day,he took her to Kangra (Himachal Pradesh) where she was again alleged raped again.

Thereafter,he dropped her at the training camp.

On coming back home on June 17,the victim told her parents about it,following which they approached police and a case was registered.

Police said that medical examination of the girl has been conducted and the report is awaited,but preliminary examination indicated rape.

The accused,a resident of Chheharta,is yet to be arrested as he has gone missing since the criminal case was registered against him.

Police is also conducting raids at various places to arrest the accused.
