A 15-year-old minor rape victim — who is reportedly four months pregnant — has allegedly gone missing along with her paternal uncle, Fatehgarh Sahib.

On June 24, the police registered a FIR in a rape case on the complaint of his paternal uncle and aunt and medical check up revealed that she is pregnant. The Class VIII student, living in the slums of Fatehgarh Sahib, was allegedly raped by a Class X student of her school.

Her parents are no more and she stayed with her uncle and aunt, police said.

The suspect, who police claim has recently turned 18 but was a minor when the alleged crime was committed, is yet to be arrested and police have sought permission to visit Moradabad in Uttar Pradesh, where the boy reportedly went with his family during school vacations and has not returned.

However, the police suspect that girl’s uncle is trying to get her pregnancy terminated forcefully or by illegal means as doctors had refused to carry out an abortion citing medical concerns as the girl is four months into the pregnancy.
