Chips, digital tech, skill, health: India, Singapore set to sign four MoUs

At least four pacts on semiconductors, digital technology, health and skill development are expected to be signed during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s meeting with the new Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong and the country’s top leadership Wednesday and Thursday, it is learnt. A joint statement that will also delve into the semiconductor ecosystem partnership is also being discussed.
Modi arrived in Singapore Wednesday afternoon after wrapping up his visit to Brunei. He met PM Wong over a meal ahead of the official meetings on Thursday. “Happy to have met my friend, PM Lawrence Wong. Had an excellent discussion on a wide range of issues. India cherishes the friendship with Singapore,” Modi posted on X.

On Thursday, Modi will receive an official welcome at Parliament House, call on President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and meet PM Wong for bilateral talks. He will also meet Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong. Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong will also host a meal for PM Modi.
According to sources, the two PMs are expected to witness the exchange of MOUs on: Cooperation in Digital Technologies; Semiconductor Ecosystem Partnership; Cooperation in Health and Medicine, and on Educational Cooperation and Skills Development. Modi will also participate in a business roundtable with Singaporean business leaders.
