Chhattisgarh cabinet OKs Maoist policy draft; to be tabled in House

The draft of new anti-Maoist policy has been cleared by the Cabinet headed by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and will be tabled in the Assembly.

The policy will make eligible people from other states for compensation if they fall victim to Maoist activities and people who risk their lives to help police in anti-Maoist campaigns will be recruited to the police department in its lowest post.

The policy has made more provisions for the rehabilitation process of surrendered Maoists and their families. An amount of Rs 25,000 will be provided to each Naxalite for surrender

The policy will be effective for five years from its date of implementation.
