Sources in the party say the announcement may mean that those who have become in-charges and co-incharges are unlikely to contest the Lok Sabha polls. “However, nothing is cast in stone in politics,” said a source.

The BJP on Saturday appointed its election in-charges and co-in-charges for states and Union Territories for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Baijayant Panda has been given the charge of the crucial state of Uttar Pradesh while Vinod Tawde has been appointed as election in-charge of political affairs in Bihar, where JD(U) president and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is likely to return to the NDA.
