According to Railways, the Shamli station registers a daily footfall of 6,500 passengers per day, mostly daily passengers. The upgradation of this station is being done at a budget of around Rs 25 crore.

Once the redevelopment work at Shamli railway station gets completed, it will elevate the travel experience for passengers by providing modern amenities, large space, efficient operations, etc.

The redevelopment efforts are focused on Passenger Comfort and Accessibility with Improved entry/exit points, waiting areas (AC and Non-AC), clean toilets, two lifts and Divyangjan-friendly facilities.

The work of Shamli Railway Station Main Building is almost nearing completion as only minor finishing work is in progress, the Northern Railway said. “The 12 mtr. wide FOB is almost nearing completion as only minor finishing and lift commissioning is pending. Platform shelter work is almost completed, only roof sheeting work is in progress at some locations.Platform surfacing work is almost completed (Approx 70%) except for some portions.

Divyanjan Facilities have been completed in all aspects i.e. Tactile Path, Toilets, Low Height Ticket Counter, Low Height Water Booths, Divyanjan Ramp except Divyangjan parking. The Circulating and Parking area work is nearing completion,” the zonal railway said in a statement.
