All illegal ‘mazars’ in Uttarakhand will be demolished, says CM
“We will demolish illegal ‘mazars’ in Uttarakhand. This is a new Uttarakhand. No one should even think about encroaching on land here, let alone doing it,” Dhami said in the tweet.

Claiming to be building a new Uttarakhand where no one can even think of encroachment, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Friday announced that all illegal ‘mazars (tombs)” will be demolished in the state.
In a tweet shared with a 42-second video clip titled ‘we will not let land jihad thrive in devbhoomi’ taken from his speech, Dhami said that this is new Uttarakhand and the authorities here would demolish ‘mazars’ that have come up illegally.
“We will demolish illegal ‘mazars’ in Uttarakhand. This is a new Uttarakhand. No one should even think about encroaching on land here, let alone doing it,” Dhami said in the tweet.
“In the state, there are more than 1,000 places identified where unnecessary ‘mazars’ or other constructions have been built, but when searched, there were no remains under them. We have said that we are not against anyone, but we will also not allow forced encroachment. We will not allow ‘land jihad’ because we trust in the law,” said Dhami in the video clip of his speech.
Earlier in September last year, days after the Uttar Pradesh government announced that it will survey unrecognised ‘madrasas’ in the state, the Uttarakhand government also suggested that it plans to carry out the same as the practice is “very important” to get a clearer picture.
