The stage is set for the release of Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles. As the film gears up for its worldwide release on July 28, the promotional activities are in full swing and the makers on Monday treated fans with the delightful fourth track from this romantic comedy, titled Dhindhora Baje Re.
Amidst a breathtakingly opulent set adorned in hues of red, the song unfolds against the backdrop of a Durga Puja celebration. It opens with a shot of numerous devotees immersed in festive fervour and deep devotion. Swiftly, the camera cuts to Rocky (Ranveer Singh), standing before a majestic Maa Durga idol, his face illuminated with a radiant smile as he locks eyes with Rani (Alia Bhatt).
Mesmerised by his happiness, Alia gracefully weaves her way through the crowd, offering her heartfelt homage to Maa Durga, and then effortlessly glides into sync with the rhythmic movements of the gathering.
The captivating 206-second music video presents a delightful feast for the eyes that might remind one of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s iconic songs and lavish sets. Yet, it is the enchanting bond between the perfectly synced Ranveer and Alia that truly captivates the audience. In addition, the music video features the legendary Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan, who appear displeased upon witnessing Rocky and Rani together.
The song, composed by Pritam and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, has been sung by Darshan Raval and Bhoomi Trivedi. Before this festive song, the makers had dropped the romantic tracks Tum Kya Mile and Ve Kamleya, and the peppy What Jhumka?
Penned by Ishita Moitra, Shashank Khaitan and Sumit Roy, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani tells the story of Rocky Randhawa, a typical ‘chichora’, who has fallen for Rani (Alia), who hails from a well-educated Bengali family from Kolkata.
As both of their worlds are polar opposites, hence before marriage, they decide to ‘switch’ their families to know if their marriage will survive.
Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani marks Ranveer and Alia’s onscreen reunion after their 2019 film Gully Boy and Karan Johar’s return to the director’s chair after seven years following Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016).
