The NITI Aayog has launched the ‘Work for Viksit Bharat’ portal, aimed at hiring professionals from diverse fields, including economics, big data, infrastructure, IT, telecom, climate change, and more. The newly launched portal, accessible at workforbharat.niti.gov.in, offers opportunities for various roles, from young professionals to senior consultants.

According to an official statement, the initiative seeks to bring skilled individuals into the policymaking and development ecosystem to contribute directly to India’s growth strategy under the Viksit Bharat vision. Interested individuals can register on the platform, select their preferred areas of work, and apply to be part of ongoing national development projects.

To apply via the Work for Viksit Bharat portal, candidates need to follow a three-step registration process:

Step 1: Create an Account on the portal

Step 2: Complete your Profile by submitting the required educational and professional details

Step 3: Receive Notifications about relevant job openings and interview schedules

NITI Aayog Work for Viksit Bharat: What roles are being offered?

On the NITI Aayog portal, currently positions are advertised for young professionals, senior consultants and more.

Young Professionals will assist with policy research, data analysis, and programme execution. Their contribution is expected to introduce new ideas and solutions to address national challenges. Eligibility, salary and other details are as follows:

–Minimum Experience: 1 year

–Upper Age Limit: 32 years

–Remuneration: Rs 70,000/month

–Eligibility: Master’s degree in a relevant subject or BE/B.Tech/2-year PG Diploma in Management/MBBS/LLB/CA/ICWA or other professional degrees of 4 years or more post-10+2

Similarly, interested candidates will also find advertisement for Consultant Grade 2 positions. These are targeted towards experienced professionals offering in-depth technical and strategic input into national-level projects. Eligibility and other details are as follows:

–Experience Required: 8 to 15 years

–Upper age limit: 50 years

–Remuneration: Rs 1,45,000 – Rs 2,65,000/month

–Eligibility: Same as Young Professional, but with a higher level of experience

The portal lists vacancies across major divisions such as, Agriculture Policy and Technology, Climate Change & Environment, Data Management & Analysis, E-Mobility, Economics & Finance, Education, Energy, Governance and Reforms, Health & Family Welfare, Industry & Foreign Investment, Infrastructure Connectivity, Law, Rural Development, Science & Technology, Skill Development – Labour & Employment, Social Justice and Empowerment, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Tourism & Culture, Women & Child Development.

Employment Incentive Scheme PM-VBRY also comes into effect

In a related development, the Ministry of Labour and Employment has announced that the Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) Scheme, earlier approved by the Union Cabinet, has come into effect from August 1, 2025. Renamed as the PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana (PM-VBRY), the scheme aims to incentivise the creation of over 3.5 crore jobs in India over the next two years. Of these, 1.92 crore beneficiaries are expected to be first-time entrants into the workforce.

The PM-VBRY aligns with the Viksit Bharat initiative and reflects the government’s push to generate employment across formal sectors. According to a statement, the scheme carries a total outlay of Rs 99,446 crore, and benefits will apply to jobs created between August 1, 2025 and July 31, 2027.
