NIT Hamirpur NIRF Ranking: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur did not secure a rank under the engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) ranking for 2024. Even its ranking in the NIRF architecture category has been declining over the past five years. As of the latest rankings, the its rank under the architecture ranking is 32.
In 2023, NIT Hamirpur achieved its lowest ranking in the architecture category as compared to previous years, securing a place at 28 rank. This represents a nine-rank decline since the 2019 NIRF ranking. While for engineering it was on 128 position in 2022, 99 in 2021 and 98 in 2020, a constant declining pattern in ranking over years.
As per the official website, the Department of Architecture is the youngest department of NIT Hamirpur and was instituted in 2000 and offers two courses BArch and MArch (sustainable architecture). NIT Hamirpur did not secure a spot in the QS World University Rankings or Times Higher Education Rankings for 2024.

The institution offers the opportunity for students to be enrolled in their various bachelor, master and PhD programmes. For the students seeking admission to a bachelor’s degree, the institution provides a bachelor’s degree in 12 disciplines; namely BArch and various BTech programmes – civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics engineering, electrical engineering, computer science and engineering, and lastly chemical engineering.
The institution established in 1986 also offers five-year dual degrees in computer science and engineering, and electronic and communication engineering.
NIT Hamirpur was started as a regional engineering college and later on June 26, 2002, was granted the status of a deemed university and was categorized as a national institute of technology.
