The Dakshina Kannada district has performed the best with 97.37 per cent result followed by Udupi and Vijayapura with 96.80 per cent and 94.89 per cent results respectively.

Candidates can apply for the improvement exam without a fine between May 23 and May 28 and the date for remittance of fees will be May 29. The school principals can submit forms along with the original challan to the DDPU office by May 30.

“The reason for increase in pass percentage is because of the 80-20 question paper pattern- 80 marks of theory and 20 marks of internal assessment. Moreover out of the 80 marks for theory, 20 marks are Multiple Choice questions which have contributed to increase in pass percentage. Moreover even this non science subjects like mathematics, social science fall under the 80-20 pattern. This was not the case last year,” said Ritesh Kumar Singh, principal secretary of school education department.

Important points to remember for revaluation of answer scripts:

- Candidate need not wait for Revaluation results to apply for exam-3.

- As per "Karnataka Pre-University course S LP E 1997, 29 (A)" revaluation marks will be considered as marks scored in Exam -2

- The decision of the committee of re-valuators will be final and there is no provision for any appeals in this regard.

- The Re-evaluation and Re-totaling results will be announced in the KSEAB Website -- kseab.karnataka.gov.in

- There is no fee for retotaling.

The Karnataka board Class 12 exam 2 was held in the morning and afternoon shifts. However, most of the papers were held in the morning shift. Students were also given 15 minutes extra time to read the question paper.

The Karnataka Board has changed the exam pattern this year. As per the revised rules, the Karnataka Board II PUC exams will be held as Exams 1, 2 and 3 to “reduce stress and anxiety among students and to create better education and employment opportunities for them.”

While the Karnataka PUC exam 1 was held between March 1 and 22, the second exams were held in April/ May, and the results will be announced today. Following this, the third exams will be held in July.

This year, A Vidyalakshmi has topped the science stream in the second PU Karnataka board examination 2024, by bagging 598 marks. In Commerce, Gnanavi M, topped the stream with 597 marks, and Medha D, the daughter of an agriculturist, topped the Arts stream with 596 marks.

The Karnataka PUC II result saw an improvement in the overall pass percentage this year. The reason behind this improvement has been identified as the change in the question paper patter.

This time, the pass percentage for English medium students was 87.40 per cent, as 4,30,612 appeared and 3,76,339 passed the exams. Similarly, a total of 2,50,467 candidates appeared in the Kannada medium and 1,76,351 passed, taking the pass percentage to 70.41 per cent.

This year, out of the total 6,22,819 students appearing as regular students, as many as 5,26,858 passed. The pass percentage among the regular students is 84.59 per cent.
