JEE Main 2024 Session 2 Updates: When is NTA releasing JEE city intimation slip at jeemain.nta.ac.in

No, the candidate will not be allowed to leave the examination hall/ room before the test concludes. 

The candidate is required to bring the following at the examination centre:

• Admit Card along with passport-size photograph affixed on it.

• One passport-size photograph (to be affixed on the attendance sheet on the day of the Examination.

• Candidates are advised not to bring any other items to the examination centers. There will be no arrangement for the safe keeping of any material at the centre. Neither NTA nor centre will be responsible for any loss, delay, etc.

No, the city of the allotted Examination Centre cannot be changed, in any case. 

As far as possible, the exam centres are allotted as per the choice of cities of the candidates made in their online Application form. Efforts are made to allot centre as per the Candidate’s choice (s) and within city jurisdiction.

However, due to administrative/logistic reasons, a different city may be allotted.

As per information provided by NTA earlier, the JEE Main 2024 session 2 city slip is expected to release today.

Once released, registered candidates can check their city slip at the new JEE Main 2024 official website — jeemain.nta.ac.in.

The JEE Main paper 1 is conducted for admission to UG engineering programmes (BE/BTech) at NITs, IIITs, other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs), and institutions and universities funded and recognized by participating state governments. JEE Main paper 2 is held for admission to BArch and BPlanning courses in the country.

JEE Main is also an eligibility test for JEE Advanced which is conducted for admission to IITs.

Out of the 12,21,615 candidates registering for JEE Main paper 1, as many as 11,70,036 appeared. The JEE Main BArch paper was taken by 55,493 candidates out of the total 74,002 registered candidates.

Of the total 12,31,874 candidates who registered for paper 1 and paper 2, as many as 8,24,945 were male candidates, 4,06,920 female candidates and nine belonged to the third gender category. 

IIT Madras this year announced a sports quota for admissions in its UG programmes. Although the admission process will require a student to qualify the JEE Advanced, but they will not be through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) portal.

The PwD candidates in JEE Main 2024 session 2 exam will be allotted a PwD-friendly test centre and extra organisational support will also be given to those candidates. Candidates belonging to the PwD category will also be given a compensatory 20 minutes of extra time for a one hour exam.

The JEE Main session 2 will be held from April 4 to 15. The JEE Main 2024 April session exam will be held for paper 1 (BE/ BTech) and paper 2A and 2B (BArch and BPlanning papers). Ideally, paper 2A and 2B are held on the first day of the exam.

No, the JEE Main 2024 city slip and admit cards are not the same.While JEE Main 2024 city slip will only mention the exam centre city and the date of exam, the JEE Main 2024 April admit card will have details on the exam centre, roll number, paper opted and candidate's details. The JEE Main admit card 2024 will be released three days before the exam date.

While the Lok Sabha Elections will start on April 19 and conclude on June 1, NTA has confirmed to indianexpress.com that there will be no change in the JEE Main 2024 exam schedule. As per the previously released JEE Main April exam calendar, JEE Main 2024 session 2 exams will be held from April 4 to 15.
