Final exam group 1 will be conducted on May 2, 4 and 8, instead of May 6. Group 2 of CA Final exam will be held on May 10, 14 and 16, instead of May 8, 10 and 12.

ICAI CA Intermediate group 1 will be conducted on May 3, 5 and 9 instead of May 7, and group 2 will be held on May 11, 15 and 17, instead of May 9, 11 and 13.

"It may further be noted that there would be no change in the examination schedule in the event of any day of the examination schedule mentioned above, being declared a Public Holiday by the Central Government or any State Government / Local Authority," ICAI said in an official statement

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) today rescheduled the Civil Services Examinations (CSE) 2024, which was scheduled for May 26, 2024. The Prelims exam will now be conducted on June 16.

As per the official revised exam calendar released today, Intermediate group 1 will be conducted on May 3, 5 and 9 instead of May 7, and group 2 will be held on May 11, 15 and 17, instead of May 9, 11 and 13.

Final exam group 1 will be conducted on May 2, 4 and 8, instead of May 6. Group 2 of CA Final exam will be held on May 10, 14 and 16, instead of May 8, 10 and 12.

I have been pursuing CA for the last nine years and these are the most exhausting years of my life. However, with this course, you are hopeful that once you clear it you will get a good job. This journey has been difficult, and there has been immense mental pressure but now with only one group to go, I am hopeful about the future.

I chose to pursue CA as it is considered the best course for Commerce stream students. Plus, my father has a background in accounting. Over the years, I completed my graduation and am currently pursuing Master’s of Finance at Thompson Rivers University, Canada and also working as a night auditor with a hotel chain.

I cleared CPT on my first attempt. It took five attempts to pass the CA intermediate and another 2.5 years to clear the whole IPCC and five more attempts to clear CA final group 2. Over the course of these years, some experiences were very harsh, one of them was being called a half CA or semi-qualified CA. It really takes a toll on your mental health when you can’t clear a paper by falling short of 5 or 6 marks and you see your peers moving ahead in life while you are stuck.

This year, two 22-year-old boys from Jaipur, have bagged the All India Rank (AIR) 3 in the ICAI CA Final November 2023 results. One of them is Tikendra Kumar Singhal who scored 590 marks (73.75 per cent).

Singhal was in Class 7 or 8 when his oldest sister, who cleared CA 5-6 years ago, decided to pursue Chartered Accountancy, and that was when Tikendra also got to know about this profession. Since then, Tikendra made up his mind that he would like to pursue it after graduating high school. The Singhal family now has three CAs in the house — the oldest daughter cleared the CA final 5-6 years ago, the second daughter became a CA about three years ago, and the latest addition is Tikendra.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will now be conducting the CA Foundation and Inter exams thrice a year, instead of the usual two attempts. The institute is likely to change the pattern from this year, after the May exams.

While the pilot run of this new exam pattern will be implemented at the Foundation and Intermediate levels, the CA Final exam will continue to follow the traditional biannual format for a while.

Chartered Accountancy (CA) and Company Secretary (CS) are two lucrative career options for class 12 commerce students. While both professions work with logic accounting and statistics, there is a major difference in their role and responsibilities in a company.

While both courses are well-suited for commerce students, pursuing any one of these largely depends on a student’s interest. If your interest lies in auditing, accounting and taxation, CA should be your choice of career. If you are interested in law and its interpretation in a corporate environment, then CS should be your choice of career.

The duration of five years makes CA more complex when compared to CS, which can be completed in three years. Comparatively, CS is easier to crack but the scope for a career is limited. CS is a vital link between the company and its board of directors, shareholders, government and regulatory authorities. Hence, they take up diverse roles in the management, taxation, finance and international trade departments of a company.

A chartered accountant’s role is also getting diversified. Accounting is evolving with technology well integrating with concepts such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, bots, blockchain etc. As a result, CA education is becoming a lot tech-enabled. More tech integration will be seen in areas such as audit, taxation, compliance and even the litigation practice of the CA profession. There is a great scope for CAs in areas such as data analytics and cybersecurity.

Similarly, with advancements in the technology sector, CS takes care of software copyright and licensing, cyber laws compliance, et al.

Yes, this time, the May / June 2024 examintions will also be held at eight overseas examination centres, namely Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Thimpu (Bhutan), Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu (Nepal), Kuwait and Muscat. The exam commencement timing at Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat centres will be 12:30 pm i.e., Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Muscat local time corresponding / equivalent to 2 pm (IST). The examination commencement timing at Bahrain, Doha, and Kuwait Centre will be 11:30 am i.e., Bahrain / Doha / Kuwait local time corresponding / equivalent to 2 pm (IST).

The decision to revise the exam timetable was taken after the Election Commission on Saturday announced the schedule of Election to the 18th Lok Sabha in April – June 2024.

The official ICAI website -- icai.org -- has crashed as students wait for revised CA May exam schedule.

As per the official calendar released earlier, the foundation course exam will be conducted on June 20, 22, 24 and 26. The intermediate group 1 exams will be conducted on May 3, 5 and 7, and the group 2 will be held on May 9, 11 and 13. The final exam will be held on May 2, 4 and 6 for group 1, and the group 2 exam will be conducted on May 8, 10 and 12.

There are several social media posts claiming that CA Final and Intermediate Exams have been postponed until 6th of June. However, these posts are fake and students should wait till an official confirmation is published at the official ICAI website.

The ICAI will announce an update on the CA revised dates for foundation, inter and final exams this evening.

ICAI this year announced a new assessment criteria for the CA final paper 6. The CA final paper 6: Integrated Business Solutions will now be an open book and case study based on the New Scheme of Education and Training. While the duration of the exam will remain to be of four hours and the manner of assessment of this paper would also be 40 per cent by way of MCQs and 60 per cent in the form of descriptive questions in each case study of 25 marks.

The ICSI has revised the CS exam dates. Earlier set to be held from June 1, will now be held from June 2. CA aspirants are fearing that the CS exams will now clash with the revised CA exam dates.

ICAI and CBSE has signed an MoU. As part of the MoU, ICAI will provide career counselling in CBSE schools to make school students aware about CA course and the future job opportunities available after completing this professional course. ICAI is working out the logistics and talking to colleges and schools that will be hosting the ICAI CA exam. The ICAI will take a decision accordingly and release the revised schedule by March 19.

Candidates of foundation, intermediate and final examinations will be allowed to opt for English / Hindi medium for answering the ICAI CA papers.

The CA Foundation course exam is set to be conducted on June 20, 22, 24 and 26, while the Intermediate group 1 exams will be conducted on May 3, 5 and 7, and the group 2 will be held on May 9, 11 and 13. Rishi Malhotra scored 590 (73.75 per cent) in the ICAI CA Final November 2023 exam and bagged the All India Rank (AIR) 3. He has shared this position with another boy from Jaipur, Tikendra Kumar Singhal.

This was Malhotra’s first attempt at the CA Final exam in which he appeared for both groups. When he started preparing for his CA journey in 2019, little did he know that he would have to face so many difficulties. “I lost my father, grandfather and my grandmother to Covid within a week. This was when I was doing my articleship at E&Y, Delhi office. All of this happened so quickly that I had to rush back to Jaipur to be there for my family. Since both my elder sisters are married, I decided to quit E&Y, and got an internship at KPMG, Jaipur,” he shared with indianexpress.com. Rishi still works at the same company.

No, this is not the first time CA exams are being postponed. Even in August 2023, ICAI postponed the CA Foundation 2023 exam to December end and January 2024. As per the new schedule, the CA Foundation exams were held on December 31, January 2, 4 and 6, 2024. Earlier, the exams were scheduled to be conducted on December 24, 26, 28 and 30 2023.

While the Lok Sabha Elections will commence from April 19 and conclude on June 1, the National Testing Agency is confident that there will be no change in the exam schedule of the JEE Main 2024 session 2 exams and NEET UG 2024, a senior NTA official confirmed to indianexpress.com.

The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) will soon be signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Aniket S Talati, President, ICAI, on January 22, announced at a press conference here.

Through this partnership, ICAI will provide career counselling in CBSE schools to make school students aware about the Chartered Accountancy course and the future job opportunities available after completing this professional course. ICAI will also develop some course content for CBSE-affiliated schools in form of modules and videos.

This time, 29.99 per cent have qualified the exam, of which 29.77 per cent were female candidates and 30.19 per cent were male candidates. A total of 137153 candidates (71966 male and 65187 female) appeared for the exams, out of which 41132 candidates (21728 male and 19404 female) passed the CA Foundation exam.

It is observed that the aforementioned Lok Sabha Election, which will be held in 7 phases, will commence from 19th April 2024 and conclude on 1st June 2024. Counting for all phases will be done on 4th June 2024.
