PUNE CITY Traffic Police have notified that traffic changes will be in place for Mahashivratri celebrations on Wednesday. The traffic changes have been announced mainly for Faraskhana and Yerawada traffic divisions for celebration of the festival at Punyeshwar and Tarakeshwar temples respectively. Notifications in this regard were issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Amol Zende on Tuesday. The traffic changes in Yerawada and Faraskhana areas will be in force from 8 am till 10 pm on Wednesday. The changes and restrictions will not be binding on emergency services vehicles and police and military vehicles. Changes in Faraskhana Traffic Division: For the celebrations at Punyeshwar temple, the Punyeshwar Road and Agarwal Road will be closed for traffic. Vehicles going from Kumbharves Chowk to Phadke Haud Chowk will be diverted via Jijamata Chowk and Ganesh Road. Vehicles going from Phadke Haud Chowk to Kumbharves Chowk will be diverted via Futka Buruj, Bajiroad and Gadgil Statue. Vehicles going from Kamla Nehru Hospital to Agarwal Road will be diverted via Daruwala Bridge, Devaji Baba Chowk, Phadke Haud and Ganesh Road. Changes in Yerawada Traffic Division: Road from Tarakeswar Chowk to Gunjan Chowk will be closed for traffic. Alternately traffic from Tarakeswar Chowk will be diverted from Shahadalbaba Chowk and will be routed via Ambedkar Chowk. Traffic coming from Sangamwadi to Tarakeshwar Chowk will be stopped. Alternatively, traffic will be diverted via Ambedkar Chowk. Traffic from Chandrama Chowk to Tarakeshwar Chowk will be stopped. Alternately, traffic from Chandrama Chowk will be diverted via Shahadalbaba Chowk and Golf Club Chowk.
