Three-year-old child kidnapped, rescued from Mumbai Central station
Police have launched a search and also sought information from citizens about the suspect who left the boy as the cops were closing in on him.

A THREE-YEAR-OLD son of a migrant labourer kidnapped by an unidentified suspect from Pune Railway Station was traced and rescued by Pune City Police from Mumbai Central Railway Station. Police have launched a search and also sought information from citizens about the suspect who left the boy as the cops were closing in on him.
Officials from Bund Garden police station said that the family of the boy hails from Madhya Pradesh and currently lives near Kurduvadi Railway Station in Solapur District. The boy’s parents and one more family member had gone to Khopoli for work. On the way back to Kurduwadi, they had stopped at Pune for a medical treatment of a family member at Sassoon General Hospital. On the night of March 5, the family was sleeping at Pune Railway Station in front of the reservation office. In the early hours of next day, the family realised that the three-year-old boy was missing. They approached the police and a search operation was launched.
An examination of CCTV camera footage at Pune Railway Station revealed a man in his early 20s had kidnapped the boy and had boarded the Pune-Lucknow train from Platform 3 with him. The investigation team examined 200 more footages from railway stations at Daund, Ahmednagar, Manmad and Bhusaval and found out that the suspect had boarded the train to Mumbai Central from Bhusaval. The Pune police team rescued the boy from Mumbai Central Station with the help of local railway police teams.
“Probe suggests that the man left the boy at Mumbai Central as we were closing in on him. The boy has been safely rescued and will be reunited with the family after hearing with the Child Welfare Committee.” Inspector Sandipan Pawar of Bund Garden police station. “We are appealing to citizens to contact Pune police if they have information about the suspect,” he added.
