Share trading coach kidnapped, robbed of cryptocurrency worth Rs 16 L

A gang of five persons kidnapped a 26-year-old share trading coach from Bavdhan and robbed him of cryptocurrency worth Rs 16 lakhs at knife point. The victim lodged an FIR in this case at Chaturshringi police station on Wednesday.

Police have booked five men in this case under sections 310 (2), 140 (2) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and sections of Indian Arms Act, stated a press release.

Police said the complainant is a share trading coach. The accused persons approached him on the pretext of obtaining information about his stock market course on July 22. They then asked him to accompany them as they wanted his guidance for investment in shares. However, they took the coach from Balewadi to Shikrapur in a car.

Then at knifepoint, they snatched his cell phone. An accused then forcibly transferred his USDT cryptocurrency estimated at Rs 16,02,510 to his own USDT ‘deposit address’ using a ‘binance exchange’ mobile app.

After stealing the cryptocurrency, the accused persons released the share trading coach, who then approached the police and lodged a complaint of kidnapping and robbery.
