Roopali SC scored a facile 2-0 win over Rahul SC in the Super Division of the 18th VOBA Major K P Jadhav Football Tournament.

Roopali SC scored a facile 2-0 win over Rahul SC in the Super Division of the 18th VOBA Major K P Jadhav Football Tournament. Aniket Kand and Amol Torse were the scorers. Ghorpadi Tamil United won 2-1 against Aryan SC. Nelson William and Leonard Das scored for Ghorpadi while Faisal Shah scored for Aryan SC. In the second and third division matches played at the Range Hills ground,Invaders beat Police Boys 4-2 in the penalty shoot-out. Ashoka FC recorded a 2-0 win over BMR. Elan FC ran out 1-0 winners against NBSC. Range Hill Warriors beat Infants 2-1.

HDFC post big win

Shyam Nandargis attacking century helped HDFC to a whopping 134-run win against Gosspl in the T20 Corporate Cricket Championship. HDFC,riding on Nandargis unbeaten 145-run knock,posted a mammoth 271 runs in their 20 overs. Gosspl could only manage to score 137 runs for the loss of nine wickets. In the second match,TCS beat PCSoft by five wickets. Batting first,PCSoft posted 149 runs for the loss of seven wickets. TCS reached the target in 17.5 overs with Saleem Mohammed scoring a breezy 89 off just 51 balls.

Maharashtra lose

Maharashtra had a second consecutive defeat in the Senior T20 West Zone League as they lost by 16 runs against Saurashtra. Batting first,Saurashtra scored 130/6. Maharashtra lost their openers cheaply but skipper Rohit Motwani and Nikhil Naik stitched a useful partnership before Motwani was stumped off Kamlesh Makwana for 35. After that,Maharashtra limped to 115/9.

Protests in Ladakh turned violent as students and youth organisations demanded statehood and Sixth Schedule status. Two elderly protesters fainted, prompting a shutdown call. A BJP office and security vehicle were set on fire. Activist Sonam Wangchuk urged for a peaceful approach. The demand for Sixth Schedule status is due to Ladakh's tribal-majority population and direct central administration.
