‘Not a rape case’: 5 key revelations by police on Pune techie’s allegations

1) Complainant’s version: The man identified himself as a delivery executive who came on the pretext of delivering a courier with bank document.

Probe finding: The 25-year-old accused was not a delivery agent. He works with a multinational accounting firm in Pune and is someone the complainant knew for over a year after connecting with him socially. The man had come to the complainant’s house in the past,

2) Complainant’s version: By asking her to get a pen, the accused locked the door and raped her.

Probe finding: There was no forced entry into her residence. There were communication and calls between the two immediately prior to the man visiting the house, suggesting this was a visit with both of their consent.

3) Complainant’s version: The accused raped her after spraying a substance on her face which rendered her unconscious. When she woke up after an hour, the suspect fled.

Probe finding: The selfie was taken on the woman’s phone with consent, and the threat message was later edited by the complainant herself.

5) The police stated that the case is not of rape. According to the cops, the woman deleted certain things from the phone before she gave it to the police. They have recovered more photos from the time which establish what has actually happened, they said. “Based on the various evidence that we have gathered including the mobile communications and also based on the sequence of events that has been ascertained, we have reached a conclusion that it is not a case of rape. Now, what action we will take against her, is something we are yet to reach a conclusion…,” Police Commissioner Amitesh Kumar told The Indian Express on Sunday.
