Pune Cantonment board (PCB) is starting the process of computerising its land record for easier access. According to officials PCB took the decision to computerise the land records in its Finance Committee meeting held last month. In the meeting officials decided to computerise both the land records on the general land register (GLR) and the lease record as well. A voluminous record of some 10,000 pages of GLR record and lease records of 3,072 pages is being computerised.

Member of the Finance Committee,Manzoor Shiekh, said,“the entire land record will be computerised. The data not only about the land which has been given to the people on lease, but also that of the buildings which have come up on leased land will be computerised. This will not only facilitate the work of the people but also make the work of the officials to access the records easy and will reduce the requirement of manpower for carrying out official works. The computerisation work will make the renewal of the licences of the people easier.”

In the meeting cantonment board approved the lowest bid of Rs 55.7 thousand by M/S eJAS for carrying out the computerisation of land record. The Finance committee approved by the bid by eJAS as its total cost on computerisation was coming out to be less than that which was quoted by other bidders. While some of the bidders had quoted lesser rate for computerisation of the GLR record their quotes of the lease record was on higher side giving the M/S eJAS an edge.
