It has been over two months since the new terminal building, also called New Integrated Terminal Building (NITB), became operational. As per airport officials, the new terminal has a daily footfall of 8,000 to 9,000 passengers.

Santosh Dhoke, Pune Airport director, mentioned that very few airports in the country has the initiative, which was implemented at the airport. “Currently, the pickup service is available only for women and disabled passengers, and others are not allowed to use this service from the new terminal arrival,” he said.

“At most airports in India, passengers have to walk to the pickup points, but Pune has introduced this to enhance service for a select group,” he added.

Y S Rajput, Aeromall’s vice-president, highlighted that services such as e-buses and golf carts are already available from Terminal 2 to the multi-level parking area and many passengers assist women or disabled individuals with wheelchairs. “But now, passengers don’t have to worry. We also have free shuttle buses running every five minutes,” he said.
