The police would take appropriate action to ensure that the video footage of the German Bakery blast that has found its way to some websites is removed, city Police Commissioner Satyapal Singh said here on Friday. Addressing reporters,Singh said the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage of a hotel opposite the German Bakery shows two suspects: one holding a bag and the other talking on a cellphone. The state anti-terrorist squad and national investigating agency are in possession of the footage and investigations are on, he said. A city court has banned the broadcast of the CCTV footage of the February 13 German Bakery blast in a bid to ensure unhindered investigations in the case. The decision was taken following an application by the ATS in this regard. Singh said investigations pertaining to the German Bakery blast were on the right track but refused to divulge any details on the number of people detained in connection with the case. We are confident that we will be able to crack the case. I will be meeting the anti-terrorist squad officers for updates on the case. Only when the perpetrators of the blast are caught will we be able to find out from where they procured RDX,ammonium nitrate and petroleum hydrocarbon oil, which were used in the improvised explosive device used to trigger the blast. Singh said that at this stage, the police would not be able to comment on where the masterminds of the blast are operating from. When asked about the various letters the police have been receiving from terrorist organisations claiming responsibility for the blast,Singh said,We have received many letters, which may have been written to mislead. The police are conducting investigations to verify their source.
