Pimpri-Chinchwad police chief among cops nominated for President’s medal

IPS officer Vinay Kumar Choubey, who is commissioner of the Pimpri-Chinchwad police, has been selected for the President’s police medal for distinguished service.

Ahead of Independence Day, the Union home ministry on Monday released a list of police officers from different states and Union Territories who have been nominated for the President’s police medals for their gallantry, distinguished and meritorious services.

Assistant sub-inspector Mohan Bhanudas Dongare, who is attached to the Pune unit of the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad, has been nominated the President’s medal for meritorious service. Also, deputy superintendent of police Arun Savant, who is posted at the state prison department in Pune, inspector Pradip Tangade and sub-inspector Vyankatesh Palakurti have also been nominated for the President’s medal for meritorious service.

Two from Pune Fire Brigade

Two personnel of the Pune Fire Brigade of the Pune Municipal Corporation have been selected for the President’s medal for distinguished fire service. Chief fire officer Devendra Potphode congratulated fire engine driver Karimkhan Pathan and ambulance attendant Narsinha Patel on their achievement.
