Petrol price slides to Rs 69.42 per litre

Petrol rates were slashed on Tuesday by an average of about Rs 3/litre.

Petrol rates were slashed on Tuesday by an average of about Rs 3/litre. The new rate will come into effect in Pune from midnight of May 1. Petrol will be Rs 69.42/litre and power petrol Rs 78.94/litre. In PCMC limits,the rate will be Rs 69.72/litre. The total reduction is Rs 3.76 per litre, said Ali Daruwalla,Pune Petrol Dealers Association spokesperson.

A week after clashes erupted in Bareilly over the “I Love Muhammad” posters, authorities have suspended internet services in the district for another 48 hours, citing intelligence inputs of possible unrest after Friday prayers. Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi, general secretary of the All India Tanzeem Ulama-e-Islam, also appealed to people to maintain peace.
