Grandparents Day celebrated On the occasion of Grandparents Day,Serra International School,Aundh,celebrated a Grandparents Gala earlier this month. It was a day dedicated to honoring the grandparents of students. Hand-written invitations by children were sent out to their grandparents who are the best storytellers and a treasuretrove of unconditional love. They were invited for an exciting Bollywood event with retro music,fun and frolic. The grandfathers were dressed in bell bottoms,scarves,mufflers,goggles and berets while the grandmothers donned lehengas,skirts and saris. The grannies were welcomed with performances by their little grandchildren. A fashion show by the teachers and the students showcased a riot of colourful attires. By honouring the grandparents,Serra aimed at nurturing the seeds of respecting elders in the minds of the children. Diwali Mela On October 15,Kangaroo Kids,Mundhwa,hosted a dazzling Diwali party for the students. In keeping with the festive spirit,the children came dressed in their ethnic best and the decor added to the sparkle. Though the traditional mela was sans any cracker bursting,the festive mood gripped the children as their creative abilities were let loose with activities such as candle stand decoration,bangle stands,games,katputli show,mehndi artists and so on. The gathering even feasted on delicious appetisers.
