Ordering breakfast is now just a click away for all those who skip breakfast due to lack of time.

Ordering breakfast is now just a click away for all those who skip breakfast due to lack of time.

Two city youth Swapnil Landge and Laxmikant Wasnik have launched the first ever-online breakfast service. Launched a month ago, students and professionals have been getting hot and steamy breakfast home delivered after ordering on the website http://www.breakfastwala.com. In last one month they have delivered over 120 breakfasts in the city.

“With fast changing lifestyle,a majority of the professionals do not get time to cook and eat good food. The core idea behind the project was to provide good food to people. Given the fact that working class is glued to computers and laptops, the easiest way for them to order food is online, hence this website,” says Landge,an MBA postgraduate from Symbiosis.

With food items broadly categorised as South Indian and Punjabi, the menu on the website offers poha, khichdi, upma, dosa, idli, parathas and a number of other popular dishes. Priced at Rs 35 per dish, the food items are delivered not only along with a bottle of water but also with a copy of one’s favourite newspaper. Orders are delivered to about 40 areas in the city as listed on the website.

“We take orders in advance. The customers have to login and submit details such as name,number,e-mail and the address, along with the time slot when they want the breakfast to be delivered. We work between 7 am and 12.30 pm and the customers can book the breakfast one day in advance on the website or call us and order immediately,” adds Wasnik,IT professional.

With as many as four lakh clicks in the last month, the website is gaining popularity amongst IT professionals, hostellers and students. While many order on a daily basis,a few choose to place an order for the entire month or week. “I have been a regular visitor on the website and the facility is useful given the fact that I stay in a hostel and need to rush to office early in the morning,” says Bhakti Yadav,a software professional.

Welcoming the initiative by the duo,Saurabh Sharma,a nutritionist, says,“Breakfast is one of the most important intakes of the day and the hectic lifestyle causes people to usually skip it or have it in office. Ideally, one should have breakfast and then leave for office and the website can help achieve this.”
