At the Deccan Gymkhana courts,Maharashtras Dharanidhai beat state-mate and sixth seeded Jaganmaya Panigrahi 6-4,6-3. Rahul (Karnataka) made short-work of No. 4 seed Sagar Anmol of New Delhi 6-3,6-0,while Azhar Mohammad had an easy outing against Maharashtras Sarvesh Thite 6-0,6-1.

In the all-Maharashtra girls singles qualifying draw,unseeded Noopur Joshi had the easiest win of the day beating Shreya Sagade 6-0,6-0,which was in contrast to Davina Chhabras long drawn win over Payal Gaikwad 6-7 (5),6-1,6-1,said a press release. Noopur and Davina entered the last-16 round.
